About Argentine Citizenship Program
A Strategic Choice for Global Investors
Argentina’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program, launched under Decree No. 524/2025, offers foreign investors a unique opportunity to obtain citizenship directly
Unlike traditional naturalization schemes that require two years of residence, this program allows applicants to acquire citizenship immediately, provided their investments contribute to the country’s economic development.
The minimum investment threshold is set at $500,000. Holders of Argentine citizenship gain the right to live and work not only in Argentina but also across other Mercosur member and associated countries — including Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, and Suriname.
The program is administered by the new Agency for Citizenship by Investment Programs (Agencia de Programas de Ciudadanía por Inversión) under the Ministry of Economy. To participate, applicants must provide proof of a clean criminal record, obtain health insurance, and submit documentation confirming a stable source of income. Once approved, investors receive citizenship, granting visa-free access to over 170 countries. The Argentine passport is among the most prestigious in the world, and the opportunity to obtain it through investment—without the need to relocate—offers exceptional prospects for global investors.

How to Get Argentine Citizenship
Passport by Investment in 6 Easy Steps
Astons will be among the first to guide qualified applicants as soon as the program launches, ensuring a seamless journey to your Argentine passport.
Consultation with an expert and case preparation
As part of the new citizenship by investment program, the minimum investment amount is expected to be around $500,000. Investments should be directed towards government-approved projects in sectors such as agri-business, technology, energy, and tourism, with a focus on creating jobs.
Submit an application to the Investment Citizenship Agency
The application is submitted through our agency, which oversees the entire citizenship process. We prepare all required documents, submit them to the Citizenship by Investment Agency under the Ministry of Economy, and maintain communication with government authorities at every stage, monitoring the progress until the final approval is obtained.
Application review and Due Diligence
All submitted applications undergo thorough due diligence, during which the source of funds, criminal record, and overall reliability of the investor are verified. The procedure involves seven government bodies, including the Secretariat of State Intelligence (SIDE), the Ministry of National Security, and the Financial Information Unit.
Decision on granting citizenship
After the review of all reports, the Investment Citizenship Agency will forward the decision to the National Directorate of Migration. The agency will have 30 business days to make a final decision on granting citizenship.
Make the investment and complete the process
After receiving approval, the applicant must complete the investment process, as outlined in the programme’s terms.
Receive Argentine citizenship and passport
After completing all investment stages and fulfilling the necessary formalities, the investor will receive Argentine citizenship and a passport. There will be no requirement to reside in the country, unlike the traditional naturalisation process.
