Investment Options for Malta Residency
To obtain Malta permanent residency through investment, applicants must contribute to a government fund, make a donation to a registered NGO, and either rent or purchase qualifying real estate. In addition, investors must demonstrate total assets of at least €500,000, including a minimum of €150,000 in financial assets, or alternatively, €650,000 with at least €75,000 held in financial assets. After 5 years, residents have the option to purchase or rent a property at a lower cost.

Application Submission
Your application will be submitted to the government-appointed Residency Malta Agency with processing typically taking around 6-8 months. Once the application is formally approved, the investor must pay the government fees, make the charitable donation, and secure health insurance.
Completion of Investments
After final approval, you must complete the remaining investment: either purchase or rent qualifying real estate, and pay the outstanding portion of the government contribution.
Obtaining Permanent Residency
All applicants (except children under 6) must travel to Malta in person to submit their biometric data. You will receive a permanent residence permit with lifetime validity, however the residency card must be renewed every 5 years.
